When filmmaker Aditya Chopra's debut directorial film released, no one knew the kind of success it would garner. But today, there's no denying that the Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol-starrer, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ), is one of Bollywood's most iconic love stories. In a feat of sorts, this month, the film enters its 1,000th week of running at the Mumbai Central theatre, Maratha Mandir. According to a statement by the makers, "The film released on 20th October 1995 and ever since has been playing out in the iconic Maratha Mandir, making it the longest running film in the history of Indian cinema. (sic)" To mark the occasion, they even released a 'new trailer' of the . In no time, social media was abuzz with popular dialogue from the film, jokes and memes. One such topic that caught on fast on Twitter was about hypothetical directors of the film.
