Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama has described himself as a "stateless refugee" and "India's longest-staying guest" in his latest book which hit the stands today.

"For reasons beyond my control, I have lived most of my adult life as a stateless refugee in India which has been my second home for over 50 years," the Buddhist monk said in his book 'Beyond Religion: Ethics for a Whole World'.

The book, published by Boston-based Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, has been billed as Dalai Lama's first non-fiction focused on his secular teachings.

The audio version of the book was also released today.

The spiritual leader has written and co-authored over a hundred books, the last one being 'My Spiritual Journey', published in 2010.
