Book: House of Cards by Sudha Murty
The gist: After being married for 25 years, a woman decides to leave her husband
Read it if you liked: The movie Arth. Although there’s no infidelity involved, the book is about a woman discovering her individuality
One line review: It’s not her best work (we really liked Mahashweta). This one falters in the middle and her emotions aren’t always real
It’s worth it: For the last 30 pages
Best line: “My duty towards both of you is over. I’ve fulfilled all my duties as a wife, mother and daughter-in-law. Now I want to live for myself”
