CHENNAI/NEW DELHI: Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa on Wednesday commissioned Adani Green Energy (Tamil Nadu) Ltd’s 648-MW power plant at Kamuthi in southern Tamil Nadu to the grid. Adani claims the 4,550 crore project is the world’s largest solar power plant at a single location.

Meanwhile, Indian Oil Corporation and GAIL India Ltd have signed pacts to acquire stakes in Adani Group’s 6,000-crore Dhamra LNG project in Odisha. IOC will initially pick up 39% and GAIL another 11%; 50% will remain with the Adani Group. IOC and Adani will later divest 1% each to a financial institution.
