NEW DELHI: Speaking in favour of the proposal to prepone the presentation of the Union Budget to January, CBDT chairperson Rani Nair on Tuesday said it will bring in “more efficiency” as public expenditure will start from the first day of the fiscal. The government is looking to advance the dates of its budget presentation in Parliament by a month to January-end to ensure that the whole process is completed before the new fiscal begins.
