MUMBAI: Indian shares ended lower on Friday for a third straight session ahead of a US jobs report and the start of corporate results season but still posted their best weekly gain in a month. The broader NSE Nifty ended 0.14% lower at 8,697.60, but was up 1% for the week. The benchmark BSE Sensex closed 0.16% lower at 28,061.14, but was up 0.70% for the week. Both indexes posted their best weekly gain since September 9.
