The government’s stimulus package would be a big boon for infrastructure financing companies like IDFC (Infrastructure Development Finance Company) and SREI Infrastructure Finance.

Non-banking finance companies (NBFCs) in general have also received a great deal of attention in the stimulus package. The government has proposed to set up a special purpose vehicle (SPV) to provide liquidity to the extent of Rs 25,000 crore to NBFCs, against the collateral of investment grade bonds. The details of this scheme would be announced shortly.

Overseas borrowing norms have also been eased for the NBFCs.
