Giving special emphasis to the PMGEP in the 12 th Plan, the ministry of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) has projected a budget estimate of Rs 9000 crore for the programme and projected employment generation of 32 lakh through setting up of four lakh micro enterprises in next five years.

“This is an ambitious programme of the ministry and to have an effective monitoring system, we’re introducing e-tracking system,” a senior ministry official told Hindustan Times.

The initiative will be an online tracking of all cases — from filing of application to selection, sanction, disbursal of fund, setting up of a unit and its physical verification. “This will ensure transparency in decision making, minimise corruption in implementation and accountability,” official said.
