GAIL in talks with Algeria for LNG

State-run GAIL (India) Ltd is in talks with Sonatrach of Algeria to buy 2.5 million to 5 million tonnes of liquified natural gas annually, a senior GAIL official said on Monday.

"We are hoping to get the gas for Dabhol power plant. So, we are looking at getting it by the end of 2010 or early 2011," the official, who did not wish to be identified, told reporters.
