India's benchmark gold futures on Thursday breached the key psychological level of 20,000 rupees per 10 grams for the first time ever.

At 12:34 pm, the most-active December gold contract on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) was trading up 0.61 per cent at 20,011 rupees per 10 grams, after hitting a record high of 20,023 rupees.
