Gold and silver ornaments were stolen by unknown thieves from a temple at Simrole near Indore in the wee hours today, police said.

Gold and silver ornaments were stolen by unknown thieves from a temple at Simrole near here in the wee hours today, police said.

A silver 'mukut', 'chatri', and gold ornaments like kundal, nose ring went missing after robbers broke into the 'Mataji' temple from a side gate, Thana Incharge Simorole Ajit Kumar Patel said. The temple belongs to Kumawat community where hundreds of people offers prayers during 'Navratra', Patel said, adding the exact amount of the booty was yet to be ascertained. A case has been registered. No arrests have been made so far, he added.
