Hoteliers are becoming innovative to outbid competition and excel in difficult times.
Baroda-based Sayaji Hotels is opening a new business hotel in Pune, its third property, offering a unique handheld digital device that allows guests to control the complete functioning of the room, perhaps one of India’s most techno savvy hotels.
With this device, one can control the lights, air conditioning, turn blinds up and down, television, surf the Internet either on the desk top or on the flat TV with broadband connection (which is free of cost) from the comforts of the bed.
The guest can also access a 5,000 movie library, operate the music system, play video games and even check the bill before checking out. This device developed by an Indore-based IT vendor also controls access to the room.
The 252-room hotel in the three-star category has a personalised bottler and a chef.
A room costs Rs 5,000 per night for a walk in guest and the hotel provides complementary airport pick up and drop in fleet of Audi Q7s. Guests can also be dropped and picked up from offices within 15 kms from the hotel.
“We will provide personalised service at affordable rates so that business that has move out to guest houses and service apartments due to expensive hotel rooms will come back to us,” said Sajjid Dhannani, managing director, Sayaji Hotels.
