HUL profits up 5.5% in Q3

Though domestic consumption picked up during the October to December quarter, consumer goods major Hindustan Unilever saw its revenues and profits grow by a moderate 4.5 per cent and 5.5 per cent, respectively in results reported on Tuesday.

Though domestic consumption picked up during the October to December quarter, consumer goods major Hindustan Unilever saw its revenues and profits grow by a moderate 4.5 per cent and 5.5 per cent, respectively in results reported on Tuesday.

While net sales for the quarter between October and December, 2009 stood at 4,504 crore, it was Rs 4,307 crore in the same period last year.

The profits grew to Rs 649 crore from Rs 615 crore.

“Volume growth accelerated in the quarter, backed by quality innovations, increased brand support and continued focus on market execution,” chairman Harish Manwani said.
