Idea Q3 net up 14% to Rs.229 cr

Telecom major Idea Cellular reported a 14% increase in net profit at Rs.228.6 crore and 11% increase in revenue at Rs.5,578.5 crore for the third quarter against the corresponding period last fiscal. HT reports.

Telecom major Idea Cellular reported a 14% increase in net profit at Rs.228.6 crore and 11% increase in revenue at Rs.5,578.5 crore for the third quarter against the corresponding period last fiscal.

The company said the growth was led by 5.2% increase in voice minutes and expansion of subscriber base.

The company said, out of its 114 million subscribers, 21.75 million has now adopted data services.

The data volume grew 15% in the third quarter. The company has active 4.1 million active 3G service users.
