India takes over SAARC chamber chair

Vikramjit Singh Sahney, corporate president of the Sun Group, has taken over as the new president of SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI). The presidency of SCCI has come back to India after a gap of 12 years. HT reports.

Vikramjit Singh Sahney, corporate president of the Sun Group, has taken over as the new president of SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI). The presidency of SCCI has come back to India after a gap of 12 years.

Sahney took over the presidency of SCCI from Bangladesh’s Annisul Haq for a period of two years. Sahney outlined the potential for cooperation among SAARC member countries in areas such as energy, transportation and tourism. He said SCCI will soon start working towards organising an exhibition for displaying products and services from countries in the SAARC region.
