Kenichi Ayukawa becomes the new Maruti MD

India's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki on Friday said it has appointed Kenichi Ayukawa as its new managing director (MD) and chief executive officer (CEO) in place of Shinzo Nakanishi.

India's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki on Friday said it has appointed Kenichi Ayukawa as its new managing director (MD) and chief executive officer (CEO) in place of Shinzo Nakanishi.

Ayukawa will take over the new job April 1 on retirement of Nakanishi, Maruti Suzuki said in a statement.

"The board of directors of the company at its meeting held on March 15, 2013, has appointed Kenichi Ayukawa as the managing director and chief executive officer in place of Shinzo Nakanishi with effect from April 1, 2013, on the latter having attained the age of retirement," Maruti Suzuki said in a regulatory filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
