The two-day meet, the third such organised by HT Media Ltd, will focus on Mystique of Luxury and will be inaugurated by Minister for Commerce and Industry Kamal Nath. Experts will address a wide spread — from fashion and accessories to hospitality, fine interiors, travel, gourmet cuisine and intellectual property rights at a time when the luxury market in India is poised to touch $30 billion by 2015 as people become richer and more conscious of international brands.

HT Media Ltd was the first to spot this emerging trend that resulted in the launch of this annual meet in 2006, according to Shobhana Bhartia, the company’s Vice Chairperson and Editorial Director.

“The demand for luxury products is on the rise; the retail environment is getting busier with the emergence of high-end malls; and India will soon be one of the most promising retail destinations for luxury goods in the world. This segment will bring in more revenue to the exchequer by way of taxes even as it meets the growing consumer demands,” she said.

An AC Nielsen study says India is among the three top brand-conscious countries in the world. We throw open the gates of luxury to you: stay with us as we go up the value chain.
