Harlequin Mills & Boon India will begin by bringing in the same titles that are released internationally on the same day of the launch in other countries. Going forward, the romantic series would have an Indian flavour with Indian characters in Indian settings. A book titled The Virgin for the Billionaire’s Taking with a billionaire property dealer hero who happens to be the brother of a Maharaja is already in the pipeline to be released later this year,” Andrew Go, director, India Operations, Harlequin Mills & Boon India told the Hindustan Times.

Interestingly, the customised series would be distributed in other countries as well. “The world is in love with India,” Go added. The publishing house will focus on the English market initially but is open to exploring the opportunity in local languages as time goes by.

J Robert S Prichard, President & Chief Executive Officer, Torstar Corporation, the parent company of Harlequin Enterprises, said, “In a decade, we believe India would be our largest market outside North America.” His view was reiterated by Donna Hayes, Publisher & Chief Executive Officer, Mills & Boon who said, “We believe that India could be one of our largest or maybe the largest market in future.”
