New Foreign Trade Policy to be announced in August

Government will announce a new Foreign Trade Policy in August this year, the Lok Sabha was informed on Friday.

The new policy, under formulation of the Government, would focus on thrust areas which include agriculture, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry EVKS Elangovan said in a written reply.

The policy is aimed at boosting exports, including agricultural exports, and creating additional employment, he said.

He said no advisory group had been constituted by the Government as yet.
