NEW DELHI: State-run power giant NTPC on Monday reported a 7.73% drop in standalone net profit to Rs 2,716.41 crore during the January-March quarter of 2015-16, against the same period last year, due to low demand from discoms resulting in sales dip. Total standalone income dipped from Rs 9,879.38 crore in the fourth quarter of 2014-15 to Rs 18,560.70 crore during the period under review.
