PSU body for mandatory social audit

The Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) has decided to propose mandatory social audit for all profit-making public sector undertakings to check their corporate social responsibility (CSR) performance, according to the director general of SCOPE, UD Dubey.

The Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) has decided to propose mandatory social audit for all profit-making public sector undertakings to check their corporate social responsibility (CSR) performance, according to the director general of SCOPE, UD Dubey.

"We will be forwarding this proposal to the department of public enterprises shortly. The proposal will ask for rendering an accreditation certificate after conducting the social editing of these public sector undertakings," said Dubey on Thursday.

"We have also proposed to the Union ministry of company affairs, so that this mandatory CSR clause in extended to the private companies as well," he said.
