RIL, BP seek clarity on gas

Seeking clarity from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), UK's BP has asked the government to spell out a clear roadmap on India's natural gas pricing policy.

"Such a roadmap will ... enable long-term investments by the producer, importers, and consumers of gas," BP India head Sahsi Mukundan said in a March 8 letter to Pulok Chaterji, principal secretary to the Prime Minister.

Industry sources said even India's largest gas producer, Reliance Industries, has raised concerns on the C Rangarajan panel recommendations on the gas pricing formula.
