Dealers attributed the domestic currency's fall to gains made by the dollar against other currencies overseas and fresh demand for the American unit from importers.
The rupee had retreated from nearly two-week high and ended three paise lower at 60.12 against the Greenback in Thursday's trade.
Meanwhile, the benchmark BSE Sensex was down 25.15 points, or 0.09%, at 26,246.70 in early trade on Friday.
