Reversing an early firming trend, the Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex fell by 122 points in pre-close trading on Monday on profit selling by funds.

The Sensex, which commenced the day higher by nearly 196 points, fell to show a loss of 122.01 points at 10,901.08 at 1445 hrs as market participants indulged in booking profits at existing higher levels.

The 50-share National Stock Exchange index Nifty fell by 37.50 points at 3,346.90 at the same time. The Nifty was up at 3,441.10 points in early trade.
