Sensex up 61 points in early trade

At 9:57 am, the 30-share BSE index was up 61.44 points, at 16,337.03, with 23 of its components rising.

The Bombay Stock Exchange opened up 0.51 per cent on Wednesday, with Reliance Industries Ltd and ITC leading the gains.
