The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex shrugged off early losses at midsession on Wednesday and moved into the positive zone, on emergence of buying after reports that industrial output grew 4.8 per cent in September.

The 30-share index, which had lost over 280 points at open, bounced back to record a gain of 10.99 points at 9,850.68 at 1315 hrs after stocks of capital goods, IT and oil and gas sectors recovered.
The wide-based National Stock Exchange index Nifty rose by 10 points at 2,948.65 points at 1315 hrs.
