Stock markets may open slightly higher, selling pressure to remain

The Indian stock markets may open slightly higher in green in the opening session but the remaining sessions will remain volatile due to selling pressure.

The Indian stock markets may open slightly higher in green in the opening session but the remaining sessions will remain volatile due to selling pressure.

In the overseas market, Dow Jones of US ended up 1.78% on Tuesday as the energy stocks did well on rebound in oil prices. The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) is also expected to keep US interest rates unchanged after the two-day monetary policy meeting, to end on Wednesday, January 27, 2016.

The major European stock markets also ended in green on Tuesday. DAX 30 of Germany was up 1.33%, UK’s FTSE 100 index closed 1.04% higher and CAC 40 of France ended 1.56% up.

In The Asian markets, Japan’s NIKKIE 225 is on a roll, currently trading 2.5% up. In China, Shaghai Composite Index is trading in red, down 1.09%. Hang Seng is trading 1.03% higher.

In the results season, HDFC, Powergrid, Godrej Consumer Products amongst others to announce their Q3 results on Wednesday.
