Such information - from setting up of a unit to selling of a product - is likely to be just a mouse-click away, thanks to the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC).

To make entrepreneurs aware of the opportunities available in the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) sector, the NSIC has developed a comprehensive web portal on marketing intelligence.

The portal is expected to cater to nearly 30 million entrepreneurs in the MSME sector across the country.

The portal (www.msmeintelligence.com) shall guide an entrepreneur on a host of issues - from selecting the right kind of industry to be set up, to marketing a product in India and abroad, participating in global tenders and knowledge of technology required for the project.

A first-of-its-kind portal for small entrepreneurs to be launched soon, the NSIC portal will be an interactive one so that entrepreneurs can also have their queries redressed.

"This kind of portal is the need of the hour, because despite having lots of websites, MSME entrepreneurs still don't have a dedicated portal that fills the gap between a manufacturer, supplier and end user, and provides right information regarding domestic market," said Rajiv Chawla, president, Faridabad Small Industries Association.
