Suzuki eVX, Maruti's first electric car for India, showcased at Japan Mobility Show

The concept unveiled by Suzuki Motor Corp. is an updated version of the one displayed earlier this year in India by Maruti, Suzuki's partner in the country.

Japanese automaker Suzuki has revealed an updated version of its eVX electric vehicle concept. The model, showcased at the ongoing Japan Mobility Show in Tokyo, features several changes in its design from the one that was unveiled by Maruti, Suzuki's partner in India, at the Auto Expo in January.

eVX will be Maruti's first electric car in the country.

What are the changes?

The concept showcased at the Tokyo show comes with redesigned alloy wheels, LED headlights, and DRLs with triangular motif, larger wheel arches, as well as connected tail lamps. It has a length of 4300 mm, width of 1800 mm, and height of 1600 mm.

Battery

It is likely to be offered with a dual motor setup, and the in-house 4x4 technology. The vehicle, Suzuki claims, gives a range of more than 50 kilometres on a single charge.

Features

Inside the cabin, evX gets features such as a sleek dashboard (with a large, free-standing digital dual-screen), a two-spoke steering wheel, touch-controlled buttons on the dashboard (for climate control, menu control, hazard light switch, etc.), vertical air-conditioned vents, door handles with ambient light patterns, and more.

Launch

Mass production will begin at the end of 2024, as per the company. Global launch, meanwhile, is planned for 2025.
