VinFast has scored a major safety win in India, with both the VF6 and VF7 earning a 5-star rating in the Bharat NCAP crash tests. The results highlight strong protection for both adult and child occupants and underline the brand’s emphasis on making safety standards across its SUV lineup.

VinFast VF7 Bharat NCAP crash test details
The VinFast VF7 achieved a score of 28.54 out of 32 for Adult Occupant Protection and 45.25 out of 49 for Child Occupant Protection. The SUV was tested in 2025, and the results were officially published in 2026. It is classified as a two-row SUV and has a gross vehicle weight of 2,493 kg.
In adult occupant tests, the VF7 scored 12.54 out of 16 in the frontal offset deformable barrier test and a full 16 out of 16 in the side movable deformable barrier test. The side pole impact test was rated as OK, indicating good protection for occupants in lateral crashes.
On the safety equipment front, the VF7 comes with frontal airbags, belt pretensioners and load limiters as standard. It also gets side chest, side pelvis and curtain airbags. ESC, pedestrian protection systems and seat belt reminders are standard fitments. ISOFIX child seat anchors are available on the second row outboard seats, while an automatic airbag cut-off switch is provided for the front passenger seat.
For child occupant protection, the VF7 recorded a dynamic score of 23.25 out of 24, a CRS installation score of 12 out of 12, and a vehicle assessment score of 10 out of 13. Child restraint systems were tested for both an 18-month-old and a 3-year-old child using rearward-facing i-Size compatible seats, contributing to the high overall score.
The 5-star rating applies to multiple VF7 variants, including Earth, Wind, Wind Infinity, Sky and Sky Infinity.
VinFast VF6 Bharat NCAP crash test details
The VinFast VF6 also secured a 5-star rating, scoring 27.13 out of 32 for Adult Occupant Protection and 44.41 out of 49 for Child Occupant Protection. Like the VF7, it is a two-row SUV and was tested in 2025, with results published in 2026. The crash test weight of the VF6 stood at 2,252 kg.
In adult protection tests, the VF6 scored 11.13 out of 16 in the frontal offset deformable barrier test and a perfect 16 out of 16 in the side movable deformable barrier test. The side pole impact test was also rated as OK.

The 5-star rating for the VF6 applies to the Earth, Wind and Wind Infinity variants, with the assessment conducted in November 2025.
