13 city students qualify for national talent search exam

As many as 13 students from the city qualified for the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE). The exam was coordinated by State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Chandigarh in which over 2000 students had appeared.

As many as 13 students from the city qualified for the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE).

The exam was coordinated by State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Chandigarh in which over 2000 students had appeared.


The state level national talent search examination- 2015 (stage 1) for Class 10 was held on November 2, 2014 and the result was announced March 2, 2015.

Karan Mittal, a student of Delhi Public School topped from city, while Aashish Waikar stood second and Ankush Jindal bagged the third position.

Others who cleared the state level exam included Uddhav Agarwal, Basudhara Mete, Himanshu Bansal, Vaibhav Gupta, Jeetika Singla, Rushil Gupta, Jannat Bedi, Jagdeep Singh, Gayatri Lal and Prabal Saha.

Two students from Haryana also qualified NTSE stage 1.They are Sarvesh Mehtani and Lovish Gulati.

Jeetika Singla, who earlier qualified Indian National Junior Science Olympiad (INJSO) part 1, is among the four girls in the city who qualified NTSE this time.

Students who have qualified will now appear in the second stage of NTSE -2015, which is to be conducted by NCERT, Delhi in the second week of May.

NTSE scheme was initiated in the year 1963 by Government of India to bring up qualitative improvement in school education.
