The BJP government in Haryana on Saturday effected a major shake-up in the top police hierarchy, shifting 19 IPS officers.However, a major highlight of the shake-up was that state police chief SN Vashisht, an appointee of the previous Congress regime, will continue in his role as the director general of police (DGP).
A strong contender for the post of state police chief, Yash Pal Singhal, of the 1983 batch has been posted as director general (DG), state vigilance bureau, while the DG, state vigilance bureau, Parminder Rai, has been transferred as DG, prisons.
