The UT police solved two cases of murder with the arrest of six persons a day after two bodies were found under mysterious condition, here on Friday.

The UT police solved two cases of murder with the arrest of six persons a day after two bodies were found under mysterious condition, here on Friday.

In the first incident, police said Sanjay Kumar was stabbed to death with an intention of robbery. Three miscreants, who were recently released from Burail Jail, had attacked Sanjay, a supplier of plastic disposable glasses, on Wednesday night. The accused were identified as Rintu alias Pintu, Ajay alias Tunda, and Surdeep alias Rokra.

UT SSP Sukhchain Singh Gill said the trio had attacked Sanjay with sharp-edged weapons with an intention to rob him. They continued to stab him till Sanjay parted with his belongings. He was later rushed to GMCH, Sector 32, where he died during treatment.

Assailants fled with Rs 800 that they robbed of him.

According to the police, the accused are habitual criminals and were recently released from jail.

To make quick money, they started robbing residents. Sanjay was cycling back home towards Zirakpur when the accused attacked him with a knife near Hallomajra.

In the other case involving the murder of 22-year-old Ravi, whose body was found dumped near the forest area of Dhanas, the police booked the victim’s in-laws. Deceased’s father-in-law Naresh Kumarand mother-in-law Rekha confessed of committing the crime, police said.
