The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has gone all out in Punjab to secure a voter-base ahead of the 2017 assembly elections but it is not the only state where the party has hopes of developing a big support base.

Even as all eyes are on the state, where the party will contest the 2017 assembly elections, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh have also seen considerable activity at the grass-roots level.

According to sources, the party has seen a favourable response from the teams in these states in terms of holding contact programmes and increasing booth-level activity.

Punjab, where the party reckons it has the best fighting chance after Delhi, came on top of the list. Following the Delhi model, the party is concentrating on creating booth-level teams.

"Punjab is the top-most priority for us as we are the strongest there after Delhi. We have seen incredible support. Our organisation building targets are almost complete," said a senior party official.
