22 to 24-hr power supply to urban consumers likely

The electricity consumers in Haryana may expect better power supply during the summers this year as the Haryana power purchase centre (HPPC) has made adequate arrangements of power supply during the ongoing summer and ensuing paddy season.

The electricity consumers in Haryana may expect better power supply during the summers this year as the Haryana power purchase centre (HPPC) has made adequate arrangements of power supply during the ongoing summer and ensuing paddy season.

Devender Singh, principal secretary (power), and chairman, Haryana Power Utilities, said on Wednesday t hat t he HPPC had made arrangements of availability of power in the state so as to supply electricity for 22 to 24 hours a day to the industries and urban domestic consumers and for 14 hours to the rural domestic consumers.

He said it had been decided to supply power to agricultural consumers for minimum eight hours daily with start of paddy plantation from June 15.
