The authority collected Rs 7.49 lakh as compounding fee. More checking will be done in the coming days.

STA secretary Satish Kumar Jain advised motorists to carry all the required documents - registration certificate (RC), insurance, driving license, pollution control certificate and permit, along with them. School and school bus operators were also advised to engage only those drivers who have experience of minimum five years of driving a heavy vehicle. School authorities and bus operators have been advised to follow the norms laid down by the administration on the basis of Supreme Court.

A move for checking driving schools and pollution check centres has been started for good quality of driving and to make the City Beautiful a smoke-free city. Auto operators have also been asked to charge fare as per the metre and wear a uniform with a name plate.
