The refugees were protesting in view of the proposal for revised rehabilitation package submitted to the Central government by the Jammu and Kashmir government and to press for their demands under the Rs 1,700 crore package.

Carrying placards, the 1947, 1965 and 1971 refugees of PoK of Indo-Pak wars courted arrest in support of their demand for grant of revised package of their rehabilitation.

"We want one-time settlement of our demands," a refugee leader shouted.

"The state government had submitted a proposal for the package to union home minister P Chidambaran during his visit here last month and it has not been approved till date," he alleged.
