Even as bright sunshine made most people stay indoors, the 24.9-millimetre rainfall received on Saturday night and during the wee hours of Sunday kept the mercury 3°Celsius (C) below normal maximum temperature.
North-westerly winds at the speed of 4-5 kilometres per hour (kmph), too, blew in the region. The maximum temperature on Sunday was 33.5°C, while minimum was 24°C, one degree below normal.
The meteorological centre in the city has predicted that the weather is likely to remain cloudy on Monday. Night temperatures are expected to fall because of rain. “There is possibility of thundery development,” said an official of the meteorological centre.
