During zero hour, Akali leader Prem Singh Chandumajra expressed solidarity with 25 MPs of the Congress suspended on Monday for five working days.

"They (Congress) have been talking about the murder of democracy. Democracy was murdered when innocent people were massacred in 1984 Delhi", he said while remembering the riots that took place after the assassination of the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

Prem Singh said, "A big leader of Congress had said that 'when a big tree falls, the earth does shake'.The issue has been long forgotten... No punishment has been awarded to the guilty even after so many years," in a case where a number of Congress leaders and activists are accused.

He said after the Modi government came last year, it had set up an SIT to probe the issue again and announced that Rs. five lakh would be paid to victims."What is the status of the SIT? What is the status of compensation announced," Chandumajra asked.
