"Sukhbir Singh Badal and his father (Parkash Singh Badal) are trying to blame the central forces and the central government for the spread of drugs that have ruined the youth of Punjab. The Punjab police, responsible for bringing offenders to book have been under the Badals for almost two decades, but they have neither blamed nor arrested the BSF people or the central agencies for spreading drugs in Punjab," said Shashi Kant in a joint statement along with Sikh scholars Gurtej Singh and Dr Gurdarshan Singh Dhillon here.

They also pointed out the penetration of drugs in Punjab jails, further stating that the illegal trade in drugs was being patronised by the political leaders and police officials who should have prevented it.
