Another blackout, supply to 20 states snaps as 3 grids fail

The National Load Despatch Centre(NLDC) which is the hub of power distribution in the country today said the grids covering northern, eastern and north-eastern parts of the country collapsed at 1 pm today.

The National Load Despatch Centre(NLDC) which is the hub of power distribution in the country today said the grids covering northern, eastern and north-eastern grid collapsed at 1 pm on Tuesday.

The Centre in its flash report said the "grid incident occurred at 11pm, affecting the Northern Grid, Eastern Grid and North-eastern Grid".

A report from Lucknow said that at the time of the collapse, 4,100 MWs of additional electricity was being withdrawn by Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana (1,200 MWs each) and Punjab (500MWs), Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited sources said.
