A huge avalanche has hit three villages in north Kashmir's Bandipora district, damaging 11 houses and two school buildings, police said on Tuesday.
The fresh avalanche hit Abdulan,Chakwali and Malangam villages of Tulail near Line of Control in Bandipora district on Monday night.
Though no one was hurt in the incident, the avalanche damaged 11 houses and two school buildings in the area, police said.
The hilly regions of the Kashmir Valley have been hit by avalanches over the last fortnight, including two massive avalanches which swept army camps in central Kashmir's Sonamarg and north Kashmir's Gurez region, killing 19 soldiers.
The avalanches have also extensively damaged the fence on the Line of Control which was meant to deter infiltration of militants into the Valley.
