Badal asked the chief secretary to constitute a committee under his chairmanship to review the performance of the officers after 15, 20 and 25 years of service.

An official spokesman said that Badal asked the chief secretary to submit a quarterly report in this regard to him so that inefficient, irresponsible and undesirable officers do not continue to burden the administration.

It was observed that efficient and responsive administrative machinery was the need of the hour.

Badal also asked the chief secretary to put in place a similar mechanism for Punjab Civil Services (PCS) and all Group A and B officers in state services.

The chief minister desired strict compliance in this behalf, the spokesman added.
