The Kalka constituency turned saffron on Friday as film star and Gurdaspur BJP MP Vinod Khanna arrived in a show of support for local candidate Latika Sharma.
The star was surrounded by fans when he reached the stage to address a gathering at Railway Colony.
While addressing a public meeting here, Khanna said, “People gave many chances to the Congress but it looted the country for years. The BJP under the visionary leadership of Narendra Modi ended the era of coalition governments and formed the government with a clear majority.”
He said, “The support of the people shows that the BJP is going to form the next government in Haryana with a clear majority. This is the time to wake up and move with the party which has the vision to develop the nation.”
He said people had voted the Congress out of power at the Centre and now it was the turn of Haryana to follow suit.
He also delivered his popular dialogue, ‘Maar diya jaye ya chhod diya jaye, bol Congress, tere saath kya salook kiya jaye’, which was well received by the public.
The cavalcade moved on the roads of Kalka, Pinjore and also went to HMT. At Raipur Rani, Khanna addressed a public meeting.
