The victim namely Pradeep Kumar was playing with his friends at a nearby park when he came in contact with an electricity pole and died on spot.

The victim was cremated on Sunday. The residents staged protest against colony president Hardev Singh and demanded registration of a police case against him.

The agitated residents broke window panes of Singh's residence and also damaged his cars. They alleged that despite informing the colony president about uncovered wires of the electricity poles in the park, and requesting him to get it fixed, no initiative had been taken in this regard.

Additional police force was called in to bring the situation under control. The police said no complaint had been received from the victim's parents against the president of EWS society.
