Boy killed in firing during marriage function

A 13-year-old boy was allegedly killed when an unidentified guest opened fire during a wedding party at Handesra village on Punjab-Haryana border on Tuesday evening.

A 13-year-old boy was allegedly killed when an unidentified guest opened fire during a wedding party at Handesra village on Punjab-Haryana border on Tuesday evening.

The victim has been identified as Arjun. He was in the crowd when coins were being thrown at the marriage procession.

Locals said he was taken to civil hospital at Dera Bassi where doctors pronounced him brought dead adding that he was the son of a migrant labourer namely Dharampal.

The locals added that the wedding of Om Parkash of Nagla village was held at Hari Om Palace near Handesra bus stand. They added that the guests had come from Mullanapur Bangar village of Yamuna Nagar.

Sources said, on the complaint of Dharampal, a case had been registered at Handesra and the police was investigating the matter. The video of the function was also being examined, said sources.
