The protest was organised by the vice-president (VP) of the youth wing of BSP and councillor Naresh Kumar. Party's local general secretaries Sanjeev Babbar and Saleem Khan also participated.

BSP accused BJP of playing dirty politics and said Jannat Jahan had carried out a lot of developmental works in Hallo Majra. They termed BJYM's protest as a political stunt carried out to gain political mileage. "Today's protest was to express our anger against BJP for its petty politics," Babbar said.

BSP also claimed that the party had done development in the areas where even local member of Parliament (MP) Pawan Kumar Bansal had given up. They warned BJP of not indulging in petty politics and said if such acts were repeated, they would hit the road in protest.
