Union minister of state for home Jitendra Singh, who made the announcement today at a CRPF event here, also said the home ministry has decided to create additional facilities including for recreation of personnel of central armed police forces at their Border Out Posts (BOPs).

"The Finance Minister in this year's budget has kept around Rs 10,000 crore for creation of accommodation facilities for the central paramilitary forces. This is the first time that such a huge amount has been sanctioned for these forces," Singh told reporters on the sidelines of the CRPF 'Valour Day'.

Singh said a considerable amount of money will also be used for the modernisation of border guarding forces like ITBP, BSF and SSB and those involved in internal security duties like CISF, CRPF and NSG.
The minister also awarded gallantry medals to 84 (13 posthumously) Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel for displaying gallant action in the three theatres of their operations - anti-naxal operations and counter-insurgency tasks in North East and Jammu and Kashmir.

During the event, CRPF chief K Vijay Kumar said that the force will march from strength-to-strength in the coming days.
