Challan filed in HP Board fake mark-sheet scam

Dharamsala police on Wednesday filed a challan in a local court against 104 accused in the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBSE) fake mark-sheet scam. The police have named students, board officials and some other culprits including postman in the case.

Dharamsala police on Wednesday filed a challan in a local court against 104 accused in the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBSE) fake mark-sheet scam. The police have named students, board officials and some other culprits including postman in the case.

The case pertains to 2010 when over 200 candidates passed without appearing at examinations of classes VIII, X, XI and XII.

The police had registered three FIRs in the case under sections 120B, 201, 420, 467, 468 and 471 of Indian Penal Code (IPC). Challan in the first FIR has already been filed. “We have filed a challan in a local court against 104 accused in the fake mark-sheet scam that occurred in HPBSE in 2010,” said ASP Kangra Dr Shiv Kumar.

He said the challan in the third FIR would be filed soon.
