India lost to Olympic champions Germany by 3-2 in a Pool A Champions Trophy hockey match at Melbourne on Tuesday.

India took the lead in first five minutes after Gurvinder Singh Chandi scored a goal in the fourth minute, however, Oliver Kork got the equaliser as both teams went into the break at 1-1.

India finished on top in Pool A while Germany finished on second spot after England pulled off a stunned upset by beating them 4-1 on Sunday.
India will now play Belgium in quarterfinals.
